The MCRRC Run for Roses race will be held Saturday, June 15th in Wheaton Regional Park, Wheaton, MD at 8:00 am. This 5K event is for women only and is part of the Maryland Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Women’s Distance Festival (WDF) Grand Prix Series now in its 30th year. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome to participate.
Packet pick-up and race day registration begin at 7:00 am at the race site.
There will be a free ¼ and ½ mile runs for all kids (girls and boys!) ages 12 and under starting at 7:45 am. Each child receives a finishers ribbon and a healthy treat at the finish.

Run for Roses race begins near the train station in Wheaton Regional Park. The certified 5K course includes a short stretch on local roads, then continues on several scenic paved and soft dirt loop courses winding through the woods and along beautiful Pine Lake within Wheaton Regional Park.
All finishers receive long-stem roses and certificates.
Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers, first master, first two in each age group (15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45- 49 , 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, and 85+) Team awards will be given to the first three Mother/Daughter teams, first two Grandmother/Granddaughter Teams, and first and second RfR Teams. No duplicate individual awards.
Enjoy plentiful refreshments, random awards, and free performance assessments post-race while you relax in beautiful surroundings.
Timing & Scoring
The 5K race will be scored with the Ipico Chip which you will receive when you pick up your racing bib at registration. You must attach it to your shoe to be scored in the race and be eligible for awards. Results and awards will be posted on this webpage and www.mcrrc.org approximately 24 hours after the race. Both “net” and “gun” times will be displayed
